Max Grosch was born in 1974 and started violin lessons at the age of 4. He earned his Bachelor of Music Performance degree at the Leopold Mozart Conservatory in Augsburg in the class of Prof. Lydia Dubrovskaya, then received his Masters degree with scholarship at the University of Houston in the class of Prof. Emanuel Borok. After that he was awarded a scholarship to study Jazz and Contemporary Music at the New School University in New York. Since 2004 Max Grosch is holding the position as Professor for Jazzviolin at the Carinthian State Conservatory in Klagenfurt and in addition to that, since 2012, is teaching at the University for Music in Munich.
He has shared the stage with musicians such as Vincent Herring, Kenny Werner, Junior Mance, Manuel Valera, Rufus Reid, Simone Zanchini, Nigel Hitchkock, Rick Margitza, Waldo Weathers, Christian Howes, Adrean Mears and many others. He has performed in the US, Canada, UK, Austria, Switzerland, Slovenia, Italy and Central Asia. As a leader he has so far recorded 4 CDs and has further appeared as sideman on numerous CD and Radio productions.
